In 1950, in the heart of Langhirano, our founder, Aldo Terzi, responded to the needs of master prosciutto makers, who were looking to improve the organoleptic qualities and stabilise production. And thus, Tecnica del Freddo was born, along with the first tailor-made systems for processing cured meats, which established the reference technical parameters. Over the following years, we expanded our vocation for excellence to the dairy sector.
This initial commitment has translated into a constant presence alongside producers. Through direct collaboration in the factory, we are able to develop custom cooling systems and meet our goals in terms of continuous improvement.

In the 1980s, Tecnica del Freddo transformed its experience in the field into an excellent methodology, building on three specialised and interconnected areas: design, for maximum innovation; creation, for economy and speed of construction; and finally support, for effective responses and timely maintenance. This approach to industrial refrigeration guaranteed optimal control over the production chain.

In 1985, Tecnica del Freddo completed a project thirty years in the making: the first fully integrated cooling system, conceived with a unique design logic. Built for the Chiari Social Dairy, this engineering masterpiece allowed for the simultaneous management of complex processes (for the production of soft cheeses, Grana Padano, robiola, and butter). The system was designed to maximise quality, facilitate the operators’ work, and save both energy and time.

The introduction of electronic systems marked a turning point, dramatically increasing the precision of control and the automatic adaptability of systems to changes in climate and usage. Back in 1995, well ahead of the competition, Tecnica del Freddo was a pioneer in the use of microprocessors for automatic regulation of temperature and humidity. To support this evolution, TdF set up an internal structure dedicated to the development and programming of custom software for each specific refrigeration requirement.

The pharmaceutical industry imposes rigorous and non-negotiable temperature standards. Since 2002, Tecnica del Freddo has been designing specialised solutions for R&D industry leaders. Our systems are synonymous with complete safety thanks to their high levels of redundancy, maximum operational continuity, and a micrometric attention to detail at every stage of regulation.

In 2011, Tecnica del Freddo strategically refocused on enhanced technical support services, bolstered by training for its staff. This choice has strengthened our relationships with customers, helping them to maintaining optimal performance and operational continuity of their systems. Today, we are the leading company in terms of support and technical assistance throughout Northern Italy, ensuring rapid interventions and in-depth expertise to ensure the efficiency and longevity of each system.
